Parmesan Asiago Loaf
This bread is super easy to make and ultra deliciously savory! Make yourself a scrumptious sandwich, dip it in olive oil and vinegar or enjoy on it’s own!
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Rise Time: 4 hours
Bake Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
3 cups of bread flour (unbleached preferred)
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
1 ½ cups warm water (110 degrees) + 1 tablespoon
1 ½ teaspoon salt
2-3 tablespoons olive oil
¼ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
½ cup freshly grated asiago cheese (divided)
Directions:
Mix flour, water, yeast, and salt together in a large bowl until moist. If your dough is dry, add one tablespoon of water. If it’s super wet, add one tablespoon flour (You want it a little moist)
Once the dough is all mixed together, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and cover with plastic wrap. Let it rise in room temperature for 4 hours. (You could watch a movie, take a nap, or go out to lunch while dough rises!)
Shred your parmesan and asiago cheese. Remember to reserve ¼ cup of asiago for the topping.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees with your Dutch oven inside.
Grease a clean surface with olive oil. Take your dough out of the bowl and stretch it out a bit. Add your cheeses inside the dough and roll it up to form a ball.
Take parchment paper and place your dough on the center.
Pour a tablespoon of olive oil on your dough. Add asiago cheese on top. Sprinkle a pinch of salt on top as well.
Place your dough with the parchment paper in your Dutch oven and cover. Bake for 20 minutes with the lid on.
Remove Dutch oven lid and continue to bake for an additional 12-15 minutes.
While it’s still hot, drizzle a little bit of olive oil on top. Let it cool for 15 minutes and enjoy!
Happy eating!
